A Prayer For These Times

A Prayer For These Times

In these times of uncertainty, I offer a prayer which is being said by my fellow MOUP Martinists around the world. If you already have a prayer suggested by your Order, be it Martinist or any other Order – and in the past couple of days I have seen great leadership from the Golden Dawn, the OMS and other Orders in terms of prayer and rituals – then do follow what your group suggests, since it will tap into the egregore of your group.

However, for those who are searching for a meaningful prayer which will link them spiritually to many others around the world, and who are not attached to a particular Order, many English esoteric groups have adopted a prayer first penned by Wellesley Tudor Pole from the Second World War, when he prayed with his friends for London during the Blitz and Hitler’s War. While Dion Fortune’s effort as described in her book ‘The Magical Battle of Britain’ is quite famous, the efforts of quieter groups is less well-known, but equally efficacious.

It is to be said at 9:00pm, to create a wave of prayer around the world, from New Zealand to the Western United States. Despite its catholic flavor, it truly worked and it will work again!

Bless you all, and keep safe! And please forward this if you would like. Having more people pray with us at 9:00pm local time can surely not hurt!

A pre prayer:
I weave a silence onto my lips…… my mind….. and my heart.
Calm me Oh Lord as you stilled the storm.
Still me Oh Lord keep me from harm.
Let all the tumult within me cease.
Enfold me Lord in your perfect peace.
………………

Prayer:
Oh God our Father hear us. We plead before Thee the sacred heart of Jesus Christ for all in this great country and the World who need tonight Thy merciful love and protection;
…………………
On all souls in this pandemic have mercy, and I pray and call for an end to this misery of death and sickness of my brothers and sisters
On Souls beset by temptation… have mercy.
On those who are in deadly sin… have mercy.
On those who have fallen into sin… have mercy.
On those who are tempting others… have mercy.
On all who are out tonight, the homeless, the weary, the starving, the suicides, the alcohol and the substance abusers… have mercy.
On all who work tonight… have mercy.
On the sick and on the suffering… have mercy.
On all undergoing operations… have mercy.
On those who cannot sleep tonight… have mercy.
On those in anxiety and distress… have mercy.
On all who suffer from loneliness and depression… have mercy.
On all who are ostracized or persecuted by society… have mercy.
On all children who cry tonight… have mercy.
On the mentally ill… have mercy.
On the night-nurses… have mercy.
On all doctors and priests called out tonight… have mercy.
On those tonight who suffer bereavement… have mercy.
On those for whom this will be their last night on earth… have mercy.
On those dying tonight without priest or sacraments… have mercy.
On those who are afraid to die… have mercy.
On all dying priests, the religious and communicants… have mercy.
On the faithful departed… have mercy.
On ourselves in our last hour… have mercy.
On behalf of all who have said no prayers today, let us say
Our Father……

My Brother, it is so very nice of you to make this prayer available for everyone to read. I will participate at 9:00 am & 9:00 pm. Hope you are well, I was hoping to see everyone I’m May but that is not to be. As you may know, my wife now live in South Carolina, about 30 minutes from Charlotte NC. If you are down this way please remember that you always have a place to stay.

Bro. Charlie, it’s great to hear from you, and I’m glad you find the prayer helpful. Life continues, but strangely! I feel fortunate to live by Newark Bay so at least I can enjoy nice views! Thank you for your kind offer, and do give my love to Mike!

How very remarkable. I remember hearing this prayer used at Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament by an Anglican monk in England some years ago. I had no idea of its origin.

The actual slate-grey, galvanized face is actually specified by any quadrilateral design together with richard mille replica the chronograph sub-dials earlier mentioned and below center, along with the little seconds on the left with all the day/date critique off to the right.
