The good news is, my translation of Saint-Martin’s book “Natural Table” is finally with the printers, and if the proofs look good it should be generally available within the next week. I had hoped it to be out by the end of June, but a bout with pneumonia and a couple of speaking engagements pushed off the date.

For now, I wanted to share this beautiful passage from Saint-Martin’s book, which really summarizes his extraordinary ability to paint magnificent images of God’s immense plan. Remember that the writing is nearly 250 years old, so it is not written with short words, simple grammar and easy sound-bytes! But it is worth meditating on these profound words.

“Finally, it is this teaching which makes him consider all the facts of Nature to be the expression of his true knowledge and of the sublimity of his original functions, as may be seen in the rainbow, a phenomenon which is only formed by the reflection of the solar rays – as the intellectual powers are the reflections of the Action of the Supreme God – and which appears when there are clouds, appears to set the boundary between their shadowy chaos and the abode of light; which bears a regular number in its colors; which appears in the form of a circumference so far subordinate to man, who himself forever occupies the center and makes it follow all his steps; which offers an immense Table to his eyes in which he can see what his first relationship with Unity was, with the submissive Agents which he commanded at will, and with the seat of disorder and confusion from which those faithful Ministers carefully kept him apart; which, in a word, presents so fertile an image that Wisdom could not choose a better symbol when, at the time of the Flood, He wanted to proclaim those Superior and Universal Powers which He made for all time the vehicles and the signs of His Covenant with man.”
